Bronwyn Houston
Hi I'm Bronwyn!
Born and raised in Broome WA, I am a proud Aboriginal woman and I am so taken by the natural world around us. I’m a passionate gatherer and forager.
I currently live in Tasmania with the family, it's such a beautiful and inspiring place.
I live to create, even from a very young age.
I'm always involved in some sort of creative project!
I'm an artist, childrens book illustrator, author and designer.
Loongie the Greedy Crocodile (2008), Staircase to the Moon (2011), My Home Broome (2012), Counting Aussie Animals in My Garden (2014), Return of the Dinosaurs (2015), Free Diving (2017), My Mate (2018), Can You See Me (2018).
I've had the pleasure of hosting childrens illustration workshops in different cities and countries! I've loved my involvement in the publishing industry and hope to keep creating Australian children's books.
My other jobs include events styling and floristry, which I have done for the past four years with the amazing Style My Day, in Hobart Tas. Working with Style My Day has sparked my love of flowers in a new and wonderful way. I feel like I've found a job I truely love! Working in the events industry has taught me so much and really love working to create beautiful, memorable events.
I love gardening (a lot!) and singing (even more). Love a good laugh, but know when to be serious...promise!
My other big job is raising our family! Four kids from 8 years-14 years old is no small task! They love coming along for the journey and are as creatively driven as I am. They are a bunch of noisy, singing, nature loving, adventure crazy hooligans. In a nutshell.
I can't wait to share my passions with you!
